WEATHER REPORT.
New Local and Non-Local Storm! On the 8th at noon-No returna Eroar Signal Codes will be introduced at Japanese station. Pressure has de Hongkong" on 1st July, 1917, in placo-creased slightly over the Philippines, and of the old, Local Coric, and the China increased alightly to moderately else- Coast Code.

The principal change in the Local Code is that the new signals' will show the direction from which the gale is expected, whereas the old signals showed the position of the typhoon The latter will be indicated, a hereto- fore, by the Non-Local Signals. The new Local Code is given below:-
DAY SIONALS. -Red cons, point upward, will mean a typhoon cxists which may possibly cause a gale at Hongkong, within 24 hour

The signals will be lowered when it is considered that all danger is over.
The Day Signals will be displayed at the masthead of the storm signal,mast on Blackhead Hill, the Harbour Office, H.M.S. Tämar, Green Island signal mast, the fagstaff on the premises of the Hongkong and Kowloon Wharf and Godown Company at Kowloon, the flagstaff on the promises of the Standard Oil Company at Lai-chi-kok, and the flagstaff near the Field Officer's Quarters at Lyemuu
