HONGKONG TIDES,
The tide table_rven below has been compiled at the National Almanac Office in London from the result of the amlysis of observations taken by means of an automatic tide-recording machine in the Water Police Basin at Trim Sha Tsui during the years 1887-8-9.
The zero of the table corresponds with the zero of the sounding in the Admiralty Chart, which has been found to be 4 feet 3 inches below mean sea level
To obtain the depth of water on the tide gauge at the Victoria Naval Yard add 5 foot 4 inches, and on the gange at Lamont Dock; Aberdeen, add 10 feet inches to the height given in the table.
