HONGKONG TIDES.
The tide table given below has been compiled at the Nations: Almanac Office in London from the result of the analysis of observations taken by means of an automatic tide-recording machine in the Water Police Basin at Tsim Sha Tsui during the yes 1887-8-9.
The zero of the table corresponds with the zero of the sounding in the Admiralty Chart, which has been found to be 4 Iset
inches below mean sea level.
To obtain the depth of water on the wide gauge at the Victoria Naval Yard add 3 feet 4 inches, and on the gange at Lamont Dock, Aberdeen, add 10 feet 4 inches to the height given in the table
