The Proceeds of the Loan wil be handed over to the Imperial Government. Al a Wir. Contribution from the Colony of Honong.
The Principal and Interest of thli' Lean are guaranteed by the agvernment of Hongrong and are secured by the Roraames of the Colony.

The Rev. Simpson Johnson, Secretary of the Wesleyan Methodist Conference has written follows to the Home papers-
-A short time ago some statements were made at the Trade Union Congress with fregard to the exemption of clergymen and ministers from military service which were a very serious and unfair reflection upon the Wesleyan Methodist Church,
The following then are the facts of the aituation:-
The Wesleyan Methodist Church naver ked for exemption our behall of-its- ministers, and from the beginning of the war is permitted all its ministers of irilitary age to erlies in the raske ce so serve as chaplains in the Army." To this matter our church was intensely patriotic. and subjected itself in all parts of the country to great inconvenience and risk order that it might play its part in a great confict.
