Reference to the death of the late Hon. Mr. A. Hewett, ..., was made at the usual meeting of the Sanitary Board this afternoon. Mr. W. D. Traun;1 President of the Department, was in the chair and there were also prevent Hon. Mr. E. Hallifax (Secretary for Chi nove Affairs), Coll Crisp, BA.M.C., Mr. P. W. Goldring, Dr. F. Pearce (Medical Officer of Health), Mr. Chan Kai Ming and Mr. Bowen-lowlands (secretary).
The Chairman at the cutset of the meeting said that since the last meeting the Lord had sustained sudden and heavy less in the passing of the senice L'hothicial neraber. In him they lost a steartist counsellor, who never finched in advising what he thought was best in the interests of the Colony and whose advice was founded on a deep sd well considered kauwledge of the Colony and its people.
