"A message from Petrograd states that during the bombardment of the outer forts of the Bosphorus the warships approached within fifty cable lengths of entering the mine area, within the fire of the coast forts, where, destroyers had previously swept for minus without result. The Turkish forts did not reply.

BULGARIAN. IRREGULARS ATTACK BERVIANS.

LONDOS, April 9, 0.30 p.m. Reuter's corespondent Nish reports that Bulgarian irregulars, num- bering over a regiment, attacked a Servian blockhouse at Valendoro, and compelled the Servian guards to retire.

A. Servian regiment arrived later and scattered the Bulgarians, whe leit eighty dead. The Servians had sixty killed and many wounded. The Bulgarians took two old guns.
