was socordingly chosen and a contract for the erection of the new station was let on the 24th December, 1912, The Police entered into ocenpation of the new build. ing in November, 1913, and a werk was completed by the end of the year. The building is a two-toried gue, the grimal foor being raised 3 feet shows the level of the ground.

The balcony extending along the back of the building on the upper fier is also enclosed with a wrought iron grille, gates being provided whore zecessary and the top of the stairesse in the min building is similarly pentected.
Water is derived from a well sink for the parpore and the station in lighted throughout with electric light, the current being obtained from a local installation established by a Chinese company for the lighting of the village.
A compound, 54′ 0′′ x 48′ 0′′, ís enclosed ou the south by the main building, on the enstyly the coolie quarters and on the remaining two sides by a brick boundary wall six feet high. The boundary wa!! finished on top with a coping of coment and broken glass. A barbed wire fens has been erected all round the small platea on which the Station has been built.
The total estimates for the station were $22,000, and at December 31st last year $15.241.85 bad bean expended.
