ZXJLIBITION.
After the Etod and Harrow match at Lord's the youthfal collegians visited the Imperial Services Exhibition at Earl's Court, where the fun raged fast and furious for some hour,
In many cases they were accompanied by their parcate or friends; who entered withi zest Into the bamours of the "joy Dight.” Everybody word on or Harrow farcars, and the boy had their hats swathed in blao chifon, with encrtacus blue bows or their walking slicks. They marched through the grounds, shouting, singing. and chorusing alternately, "Etoa! Eton: Elen Harrow 1 Harrow Harrow!"
Occasionally the processions met, and then began the gentle pastime of hat- Amashing. But it must not be supposed that there was anything in the least ugly or ill-tempered about this. It was a gaza 'into which both, smashers and smashed entered with the greatest zest. Hals were. smashed and bagged and then convey. od to the safe keeping of a sister or some fair cousin...
The trouble was that everyone wanted to do so much that there was no time for many of them to do anything at all. The queues of people as they waited for their turn on the scenic railways and water chulos, wore in some cases a hundred yards in length. The aerial flights worked double time, their capacity was so overtaz. ed that tho rival hosts of Elan and Harrow reduced to ievonting pastimes to themselves.
A whole family of Harrovians would join hands and sing "Bore we go round the mulberry bush round a aniling Eton mother and father. The boys and girle played leap frog, touchwood, and ran race, One party tried to launch the lifeboat, and another plunged head long into the lako and engaged in impromptu swimming me chez,
The management of Earl's Court tactfully withdrew brary policeman and uniformned athendent from the grounds and allowed. the crowd to: amuse itself as it woult, tzusting its sportsmanlike instinot, ka "keep out of serious faischief And this was
a copidence which was amply justified.
