The publication of a new dally in Colom bo styled The Oneplange has been spoken of for some time peak, saya the Times of Ceylon. Tas Hon. Mr. P. Ramanathan the moving spirit. The services of Mr. Tom Wright, a Penang journalist, formerly al Hongkong, were engaged an editor of the nowspaper, and Mr. Wright has been. | for some time in the island getting hin staff gether and acquainting himself. with local affairs. But Mr. Wright has had a difference with Mr. Ramanathan and has rasigned his appointment before even the paper has made an appearance. The state- ment that the directors of the now paper hai had's split was not true, Mr. Wright toid a representative of the Times of Ceylon. They were pulling together all right. "1 bare resigned because I have found the editorial chair too large for me. Mr.
Ramsauthen wants to occupy it with me at the same time. I had a different im- pression of him; but his ways are not in accord with my principles. I am a demo- grat and not an autocrat, and can't do Certain things he wants me to do."
