HONGKONG AND SHANGHAI BANKING CORPORATION.
The ninety-fifth report of the court of
directors states :—
Gantlaman,-The directors have now to submit to you general statement of the affairs of the Bank, and Balance sheet for the half-year ending the 31st December, 1812.
The net profits for that period, includ
81,960,288.64, balance brought forwand ing from last account, after paying all charges, deducting interest paid and due, and tink ing provision for bad and doubtful ne- counts, amount to $3.931,433-48.
The directors recommend the transfer of $200,000 from the profit and lost account! to credit of the silver reserve fund, which will then stand at
at $17,200,000,
They also recommend writing off Bank premises account the surui of $200,000.
After making these transfers and deduct- ing remsnoration directors there remins for appropriation 84.616,430.48, of which the directors recommend the payment of a dividend of two pounds sterling per share, siz, £240,000,
and = bouus of ave shillings sterling per share, ris,, £30,000, amounting in all to £90,000, which at 2/-.
