ALLEGED POLICE EXTORTION.
KARACHI, 17th October.
A case of alleged police extortion is being tried in the Sessions Court. Hydemind. Bab-Inspector Ghulam Nain and three other policemen are charged with having takon Rs. 300 ne kush money from one Kamal, a Zemindas. It is said that in a theft case the police traced some foot prints to Kamal's village and sought his help which he did not see his way to give, whereupon the police, with the help of come other Zeminders, discovered the stolen property in Kamal's village and arrested the culprits and got them punished. After this, Ghulam Nabi taxed Kanal with Laving sheltered thieves and threatened to! record something against him in the policu diary and report to the District Superin. tendeat & Police. Fearing consequences, Kamal, it is said, gave Rs. 300 to the police. A large number of witnesses have been cited by buth parties,
