With regard to four samples of ground nut oil received, it appears that their valuation varies hotweed 209 to £30 per ton, lasa 2 per cent. discount. Of the sample of "Tai Fung Chi Yau" oil, the report ata'os that this apponts to be darived from Hijanocarpus anthelminticus, or poa- ribly some closely allied species. In the United Kingdom the oil, would only be suitable for soap making, and it is not wurth consideration for this purpuse un- less brge quantities are available. Four varieties of soy beans were received, and the roporte en than show that they are valued by brokers 'at prices ranging from £10 to £3 per ton. A firm of oil- scod crushers in whom these particular samples were submitted stated that the amount of moisture present was in all crimen just over per crat, which is considerably less than that in the Manchu- risa besna commonly imported into Eu. These Hongkong beans would undoubtedly be preferred from this point friow, and there would also be less risk f damage during transit than in, the case of beans containing a higher percentage of moisture. A specimen of soy bean nil that was submitted was valued by a firm of vil merchants at £23. per ton, in Hull, as a normal any ban oil.
