A CURIOUS STORY.
THE CHINA MAIL.
The quarries of the Flying Bat moun- Bains are famous for stone that are used In the production of coment. According to the story, edetain Chinese; who have been accustomed to sell stones to curtain foreigners for the making of cement, when their own quarries were worked out, went "to thewo hills, and, without sane- tir, sold the stone from thence. It is well-known that there have been some Chinese who have lately been in. terested in. and have meddled with avia. tion.
Amongst these was Fung Yue. He bad already mot with some accidents and had broken his arm. It appears that in trying to fly at In Tong, which is said to be near Canton, he met with an neci. dent and lost his life. This was on the twenty-fifth of the month. Seeing that Mr. Fung was working in the interests aviation, so that it might be of use in military engagements, and was eager that the army of his own country should at be behind the armies of the West in this regard, the military authorities leeiled that there shall be grea: emorial service to his honour on Sep. tember 3. In this caso the soldiers get hold of a good deal of baggage, of one sort and wother, and amongst it were a lot of flags, which were made of white material, with the character "Li inscribed in black.
