The connection of the Kaiser with the Hamburg-American Line has been often unfavourably remarked on by his critics. a elever fortnightly "Die Zeitschrift," review, published an article on this topic last March, entitled "The Kaiser as an Advertisement," in which the writer animadverted on his Majesty's friendship for Her Ballin, the head of the "Hapag. The "Zeitschrift" returns to the attack in the current number with A onslanght, entitled "Kaiser and Hamburg against, Prussia." The article deals with the recent failure of a German dock company to obtain a concession from the Bundesrat making Emden r port of departure for emigrant ships.
