The report of the above Company for presentation to the shareholders at the twenty-eighth ordinary general" meeting, to be held at the officos of the Company. on Saturday, the 23rd day of September, 1011, at noon, states :—
The General Managers, beg to submit to the shareholders their report on the twenty-eighth year's working of the Com- pany, anding. Jans 30th, 1911. -
After paying all running expenses, docking charges, premin of insurance, remuneration to the Consulting Committee and auditors' fees, there remains a balanca at credit cf Profit and Loss Account of $53,261.81, which with the approval of shareholders, it is proposed to appropriate As follows
To pay a dividend of 5 per cent, on the capital of the Company, absorbing -850,000 and to carry the balance","of $3,261,81 to the Reserve Fund, and
it is further proposed to transfer from this fand a sum of 838,261.81 in order to provide for depreciation of the Com
pany's propertios.
The Reservo Fand will then stand at $160,000,
Trade, during the first half of the period under review, was extremely dull, but with the advent of the Chinese New Year marked improvement has been apparent, and competition was rather loas koon, enabling rates of freight to be raised to a more remunerative level,..

The steamers and other properties of the Company have beermaintained in first class condition, and the cabin accommodation of the Haiyang, Hsiehing and Haiman increased during the year.
The amounts appearing as "Freights Duo" 835,435,27 and "Accounts Receiv nble" 867,144.82 have since been collcotod.

Mr J. W. Bounar, the Hon. Mr Henry Keswick and Mr R, Shewan having resigned their seats on leaving the Colony, Mr G. Q. Mackie, the Hon. Mr O, H. Row and Mr C. A. Tomes were invited to fill the vacancies, and now retire on terms of the Articles of Asociation, but offer them melven for to election.

The accounts for the first six months "wera auditad by Messrs W. H. Patte and AR Lowd and for the final six months by Mr WH Potts and Mr-E-AM- Williams (acting for Air Lowe). Mosers Lowe and Potts, now retire, but offer tbommelves for re-election.
