Hamburg-America Intention.
Attention has lately been attracted by a report issued by a semi-oficial agency in Berlin that the Hamburg-America Line is about to extend nd consolidate its "service to Perria, and that with this object in view the company has parclised the British steamers Turkistan and Gorjusstan, The exact significance of this announce ment is not quite understood in English shipping circles. Ju the first place, the principal imports of Persia are Bianchester gonds, and the transport of these and other British manufactures is mainly provided for by a fortnightly service maintained by F. C. Strick and Co. (Limited) and the Bucknall Lanes, while the West Hartlepool Steam Navigation Company also despatch vessels to the Persian Gulf. So little hold have German manufactures got in the trade tint the steamers of the Hamburg-America Line chielly curry sugar from Antwerp.
