Shortly before seven o'clock last night five robbers, believed to be andesimables from Canton who had come down to Bong. long for the New Year, entered a house in yuen Street Two kept watch while the others ransacked the place, taking a quantity-, jewellery and me money, Frightened'nt the appentance of the men, girl imate rushed out on to a verandah aird Fell over inte the street below. Wheri picked up she was suffering from a nasty injury to her lower jaw and from other cuts and bruises, and was at once taken to hospital. In the meantime the robbers got way, but Chinese dowctives Inter arrested at West Point three men who are believed to have taken part in the robbery. One of the number was in possession of a new Coit revolver.

Lusos, Feb. 2. Edward Mylius was tried before a special jury at the instance of the Attorney- General Sir Rufus Isanes, and the Solicitor- Cental, Sir John Sion. There was tremendous public interest and a great array of Counsel.
Defendant at the outset demanded the attendance of the King. The Chief Justice replied, “His Majesty cannot be s{BOD- ..ed here.***..
Sir Rufus laid emphasis on the fact that complaint was made against Republicansentiments of the defendunt, but the charge against the King was repeated in three articles.
Sir Rufus called Admimi Sir Michael Catma-Beymour, who depict the stury. The King, he said, was hot at Malta at ill when his (Admiral Calme-Seymour's) daughter was there.
The Chief Justice impressively addressing the defendant said: Every honourable man and woman would recoil with shame from the use of such weapons.
