SHANGHAI BROKER CHARGED
S WITH PERJURY.
The charge
night ngainst Mr L. R1 Michel, a uker, in H.B.M. Supreme Court, Shanghai, was laid by Mr H. H. Read, another loker, and renda :----
**Complint lus this day been made on oath before this Court, for that you on the 4th day of October, 1910, at Shanghai, in the nyire of China, falsely, wickedly, and corruptly did coinmis wiliul and cor- rupt perjury in the testimony which you gave upon oath as a witness at the trial of a certain tase between the said I. R. Michael and W. V. Carmichael at H. B. M. Supreme Court for China and Cores at Shanghai, to the following effect:
1. Thas two several parcels of 200 Ayer! Tawah shares and one parcel of .200 Batu Asmin shares were sold by you as broker to W. V. Carmichiol and were bought by you as a broker.
2. That you did in transactions on your own account as principal in the shares which were the subject matter of such action, Leing shares in the following com panies: Talang, Ayer Tawah, and Anglo Jaras"
**3. That you had dever been interested therwise than as a broker in the rise and fall of rubber shares."
Mr Oppa appeared for the prosecution; accused was represented by M: J. Q. E- Douglas.

The N. C. Daily News in the course ol some notes on the plagas observes that it has yet to be proved that the "Mongolian". plague; paoumonia" plagao, is caused by the same germe as "* bubonía" plague. Mongolian plagus takes from „Abrue to boven days to incubatu; the germ is intuated." "N"
