Recently ́raid was made on premises and altogether 33 arrests were made, and evidence was brought that the smokers had left their dress with the keeper. It was contended for the dofonce that this could not be regarded as payment of " fee or ita equivalent." The case was again called to-day, before Mr. E. R. Hallifax at the Magistracy, and was adjourned for a further wook in order that the point at issue might ho argued.
