The members of the Kwangtung Self- Government Society have petitioned the Vicoroy for mercy to be shown to any further desarters or rioters that may be yet caught The Society points out that the ring lenders have anfured death and that further executions may lead to serious die atisfaction amongst the people. The Viceroy held a consultation with the leading members of the Society and mecized inclined to scade to their request.
