The three League encounters played of on Saturday provided an admirable illustra tion of the uncertainty of form in football. I was generally thought that all the fixtures would result in fairly close tussles, whereas as a matter of fact, the-rospective maigins claimed by the winning elevens were 3-6, 4-0, and 3-1. Then the successful teams banged 12 of the 13 goals notched.
One certainly was not prepared for the Club going down so easily before the R.G.A., who, if they keep up their form, will have something to say as to whether any other team shall claim the champion- skip at the odd of the season. Neither
it seem probable that the Engineers would suffer so badly as they did at the hands of the Bus, who are still in happy vein. Kowloon, too, supplied us with a little surprise in registering the day's record BCOTO. Perhaps they "are the "dark horses" after all.

The Sappers in suffering decent missed the services of Coxon and Beardmore Morrish was the mainstay of the team at: back but by his absence from the front line theforwarda were all at sea. If the Eng- inears intend doing st all well this season they cannot do without Morrish in their forward line.
When the Bulls started it seemed as if
