The Admiralty has issued the regulations LIGHT AND REFRESHING
governing the award of the decoration for
the officers of the Royal Naval Reserve and Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, which
has been recently instituted by his Majesty. These provide, in the case of the Royal Naval Reserve, that the decoration may be conferred on commissioned executive and engineer officers of the forco, borne on the active list, who have a total commissioned service (including acting time) of at least fifteen years. Time served in honorary. rank will not count.

In the can of executive officers they must have gone through naval training in the Fleet for a period of twelve months, and have attained the rank of lieutenant, and enginers must have undergone..an instructional coursó at home dockyards and have attained the rank of engineer P.N.R.
Officers, otherwiso qualified, who have; not undergone sach, training," but who have performod specially good service, may, at the discretion, of the Lords Commissioners" of the Admiralty, be specially granted the decoration. Ná
