Some days ago we reported a case of attempted piracy which was luckily pre- vented by the timely arrival of H.1. M's gruisur Po On. The modus operandi of the pirates has lately come to light. It appears that one of the tray of the vessel to be plundered was in, league with the robbers. Some rice bags had been placed on board and in ench was,hidden a weapon. The max found mean to distribute these weapons to his accomplices and hot for the arrival of th-cruiser, there would probably have been several lives lost.
