this afternoon, the Head of the Sanitary YOUNG LADY, now in England, would Department presented the following minutes passed to TAKE SHARP with regard to the barning of joss sticks in CHILDREN on voyage, or set as COM. the Colonial Cemetery during Japanese PANION in exchange for Passage to
Hongkong by son or via Siberia, barials:-The burning of jess sticka is part of the ceremony in Japanese burials. At tho Colonial Cemotory Japanese are buried in part of the cemetary which is more or less separate from the reat I do not see that the burning of joas sticks during the eeremony in that part of the esmotary s1
be reasonably abjected to, and would recommend that the inspector be instructed that it is not necomary to take action to stop jeg sticks during a Japaness burial.
Mr Shelbor Hooper minuted-I cannot agree with the proposal Tho byelaws against same were fully discussed by the Board and approved by the Legislative Concil.
