The fees collected amount to $6,097 which is MA jn. crease of 8851 upon that of 1907. There hare buen soveral changes in the staff, and after Midsummor it was strengthened by the addition.of a V Grade Assistant, no that the staff for the second; term was 3 assistants and myself. I take this on. portunity of publicly thanking my as sistants for their hearty co-operation in bringing the past year's work to a HUO. eaceful issue. The apparatus in the school is satisfactory.. Victor's Day

was celebrated in the usual manner.. For the purpose of teaching Chinese in more efficient manner, the scivol was re-classified, and boys were able to receive instruction in classça suited their know-

ta ledge of the language. A team from this school took part in the Hygiene Competi bion, but owing to the small member of scholars, in the upper classes, it was only with difficulty that a team was mised at all; consequently we only secured the 9th. placa. Simple physical drill and gymnastie exercises have again been taught during Lhe cond seasons, and were keenly appreciated by the boys. Football con- ties to ha the favourite pastime, and much onthusiasm is displayed in the matches for the Inspector of Schools' Cup, and the Junior Shield. Competition. · Wo were fortunate in winning the former cup last season. The regular half-yearly and annual examinations have been held, and the results communicated to the boys' guardians and relatives. The Irspictor of Schools made his annual inspection rodent ly and his report is being anxiously awaited.

The report of Yaumati District School was as follows:-Mre May, Mr Wolfs, ladies and gentlemen - It gives me much pleasure to present to you the 6th annual report of the Yaumati School.

Staff. There has been only one change in the staff, ie. the appointment of Mr Li Mun-Kwong in place of Mr. Un Kwong promoted. Mr Curvin still remains leave though ere this he has started on his return voyage and will probably arrive in time to take over the school for the coming year. The results of the so- nual examination held by myself are on the whole good. Some subjects show im- provement, while a few were not quite up En standard. I take this opportunity of khanking my assistants for the satisfactory manner in which they have performed their duty under unusual stress of work.

Scholarships. It will be remembered that in flio previous year this school secur et all the Queen's College, scboiseships. The Headmaster of that institution reports that the work of the four Free Scholar, has been "highly satisfactory." This year we våre again fortunate in obtaining three out of the four.
