There was a light east wind for the first part of the nice, strengthening later. The Vernon rounded the beacon first with Erica, Colleen, and Alannah close up, but the wind died away close. round the mark and all the boata assembled there for some minutes, when a peace came over the land and all the boats got away agáln in a cluster, Vernon, Kathleen, Colleen, and Alannah keeping well away to the north. All, except Kathleen, sorod by doing so, but she got into a calm near Chamuel Rocks and was last at the Cust Rock buoy, which was wanded in the following order :-Vernon, Colleen, Alannah, Dione, Erica, Min, and Aathlecu. The wind was little stronger from chis mark and the boats made goed time on the heat up to Channel Rocks which were rounded its nearly the
same order as the last mark. The dinishing line was crossed by Vernon at
NEW YEAR, 1909.
