Aucording to a statement made by the Bureau of Manufacturers of the United States, a project is on foot to establish. wireless telegraphy among the scattered islands of the Pacifio Ocean. It is desired to include in the system the Commonwealth of Australia, the Dominion of New Zonë land, the Fijis, the New Hebrides, the Selomon, Samoad, Cook, Society, and Marquesa Islands, and the phosphate is lands of Ocean, Pleasant, and Malater. The name of the proposed concern is the Paoific Islands Radio-Telegraph Company. Of the proposed, spital of £60,000 the owners of phosphate deposits on Ocean and Plessan Islands have subscribed £10,000.

A fight between threshers and a whale weddened the waters of the straite off Beechoy Bay, Vancouver, on Septerther 20, and a number of local yachtsmen wit nessed the struggle which ended, like most -fights of the kind, in the death of the whale. The yachtsmen were well off shore, beyond Pecklar bay when attention was drawn to a while leaping and churning the water about a‘handred yards away.
