A MATRON of the Y.W.CA. HOME In trade-mache a certificate is itsded to the

Neuritis, Lassitude, Neuralgia-

Almost everyone has known that fealing of relici and thankfulness when they have found someone who could be depended upon without doubt or disappointment, whose word can be accepted unquestionably well that is what the writers of these letters are, men and women who are to be depended upon.' A wide and practical experience makes euch statements, for instance, as those of Miss Morris, who is matron of a Young Woman's Christian Association Home, worthy of the closest attention, for, knowing how greatly girls and young women workers suffer from Neuritis (pervous exhaustion), she positively affirms that Phosferine may be absolutely depended upon' to speedily dispel the disorder, and restore the flagging bealth.

Quite Gone.

Miss I. M. Morris, Matron, Y.W.C.A. Home, 2, Poplar Walk, Croydon, writes: "There is nothing in my estimation approaches Phosfering as an unfailing restorer of flagging health. In my experience I have found it so great a help that I cannot tell you half the good it has done, nor the number of young lives it has brightened, that had previously been subject to these terrible nerve complaints Neuritis and Neurasthenia. The personal benofit I obtained from its use in these distressing affections was surpris. ing, and now I always have a 4/6 bottle handy, as amongst so many hard working girls (our boarders being mostly clerks and teachers) it is a boon to know of something that will quickly restore vitality and give back to the pain-racked workers renewed energy and efficiency, which is so essential to their success in business life. In cases of Neuralgia and Nervous Break- down I have found it equally useful, and in my opinion it stands unrivalled as a Tebable restorative.”—January 30, 1908.

and to provide for their regietration at such offices as the Chinese Government would establish for that purpose. The first attempt on the part of the Chinese Government to carry out the provisions of this article, waicli is identical with one contained in the British and other treaties subaquently concluded, was the appearaned of some draft regulations drawn up by the Board of Commimea în 1904. "As this document proved altogether unacceptable to the representatives of several Powers, steps FIRE were taken in the following year to pre- pare a series of trade-mark regulations embodying the main riows of foreign Go- vernments. For over 6fteon months the Chinese Government ignored this doan- ment, and in November 1906 produced another of regulations, which again boro no resemblance to foreiga: wishes on the subject. The representatives of the Powers in 'Poking, refused to have anything to do with this fresh draft and insisted that the document propared by them in 1900 choald form the basis of inture negotiations. There the mattor las rested, and the only retion of an ene couraging "kind that has been taken in regard to it was a proclamation issued by the Shangbai Total Inst year on the subject of the infringement of foreign trade-marks in China. Could the Centra Government be induced to imitate the un- compromising terns of this document, the protection of foreign trade-marks in China would be as nearly complete as inter- national agreement cau moke 15"

Wood Ash For Pigs.

Wood ash seems to be a qurious remedy for diseases in animals, yet its virtues in that capacity are much appreciated in Mishousand. One, well-known fariner in that country has raised pigs on a very extensive scale for nearly twenty years without ever receiving a simítálivui of cholom or swine forer, and with a loss of only 2 per cent of his animals from the plague. He altributes bis good fortune to the fact that to keeps out ashes and charcoal mixed witli mit constantly before his pigs. The mixture is kept in large covered boxes, with holes bored near the bottoms from which the animals work the stuff out as fast as they want it. Thoy nover, it appeas, eat more of it than is good for them. A little wood ash is slao held to be very beneficial to hotees; it is givou, teaspoonful at a time, ssprinkled on feed of cats. The natives aver that no other medicine ts needed to keep s horso.in good condition.
