MACHINE.

So much has been heard of into of the HONGKONG A BUANGHAI fying machine of the Wright Brothers that a brief description of it will not be
amiss.
----The-body-of the machine-is-forty feet long and eight foot wide, giving it a totul buoying surtnes uf 640 square feet. It is said to be capable of carrying the weight- of four ordinary mon.
The principle governing the construction is said to be the same as that which enables a bird to fly, although in appearance she ratchine in no way resembles a bird. The Wrights studied the formation of myty birds before their machine was constructed. What might be termed the bady of the machine is shaped like a long box, the sides and ends being entirely open with the ess ception of a faw light ppright picesá and goy wires. The forward side of this bor is, inclined hpward like the breast of a bird. The bottom and top are of clowly woven COLOW-canvas or silk. The engine which is of
