It is reported from Kodze, Tsu, Chiba, Odawim and some other placor, mys tho *Kohus Herk" of Sept. 19, thul between 2 and 0 o'clock on Tuesday afternoon, Janinge was censintied there by a big tidal wave. At Kodzu, u bridga and some tele rapli pides were washed away. It is uot yet known whether any lives" were lost. At Tan, thirteen houses were dow troyed, tus saveraly damaged, and others Hooded. One hundred and six feet of the coastal einlankment were, washed away, At Chiba, seven houses were destruyed and about we hundred others fondled.
