Further details are given in the following San Francis cable of Sept. 9 to the Osaka “Asnii”:-On the night of the 7th, a great mesting of the Japanese and Corcan Exclusions League, was held at Vancouver, after which thoro was a big procession of the demonstrators through the streets. Subsequently, thousands of roughs attack- ul the Japanese and Chinese quarters, which they completely destroyed, causing lowes amunuting to tens of thousands of zen. Indignant at this attack, the Japanese defended Bemselves desperately with pieces of wood and cooking Knives, and four of the assailants were killed, white several others were wounded. Another gang of riotors attacked Japanese who were working at the pier. More than ten of the Japanese were towa into the sea, but fortunately they were rescued.
