Experimenta with galignite, dynamite, and gunpowder have been carried out on the wreck of the battleship Montagu, and though extreme reticence is observed, it is belioved that the experiments demonstrated the superior value of gelignite.
Bowling.
Considerable club interest hea bean centred in the forthcoming bowling matches on Saturday and Monday between the Hongkong Club and the Club Ger- manis. The latter club having to win the Both shield bat once again to secure it. teams are practicing for the contest and a very close result is expected. The teams are not yet definitely chosen, but will be after the next practice.
