The Match at Canton,

(From Our Correspondent.)

CANTON, Feburary 14 Our Hongkong friends, representing the Hongkong Hockey Club, who are to play us in the afternoon, arrived by Fosterday morning's boat. From all accounts, the trip up was made quietly, as the men hund more regard for their own fitness on the morrow than to jamboures all the way. The morning was spent in allotting quar- ters to our visitam; some practice on the 'ground, during which it threatoued rain, but eventually held off altogether; and visits to acquaintancos and the Club, where old friendships wore renowed and new Dogs cemented.

About 3 p.m. one or two members of both teams put in an appearance, and by 3:46 all were on the ground, which was lined with quite a huge gathering of spectatore-for Chameon-visitors from Hongkong, ofider, and men from the various destroyem and gunboats in port, greatly helping to swell the numbers,

After the usual delay for the photographig process, the teams lined up about 4.10 p.m. as follows:---

HONGKONG: Livésay (goal): Murphy (Capt.) and MacGillivray (backs): Garrott, Ogle and Knott (half-hacks); Hooper, Satterthwaite, Blaster, Kirwan, and Bird, (forwards).

CANTON Harrop (goal); Lay (Chpt.) and Beyer, (hacka): Sansom, Saunders and Comarie, (half-backs); King, Hutchison, Thorne, Shelloy and Barry (forward).
