CANTON NEWS.
(From Our Correspondent.)
CANTON, January 27. APOST.
Football, Yesterday a match was played between the Shamoen Sports Club and s team from the Torpedo Destroyers "Otter and Virago" at present in port. The weather was close and sultry, but in spite of this one of the best contested gavies of Ithe season was witnessed, the match onding 'n a win for Shameen by the narrow margin of one goal to nil. In a fast oncounter, Robinson, tantre forward, and Sansom, inside right, together with Imhoof, centre half, showed the best form for Shameez, while for the destropare the men whose play was most conspicuous and very sound were the centre half, inside right and outside left forwards,
Hockey. The Canton Hockey team are straining every nerve to avenge their defeat at Hongkong and though this fond-hopo may eventually not be realised it will not! be from want of hard work. The abadnco from the team of Messrs Jamieson, Hut- chison, King, and others will.of course make an enormous difference to our chance of success, but as the old saw goes "there are as good Geh in the ses as ever came out of it," and, though this may not be strictly true in this case, ono never knows what talont lies dormant even in the most up- likely players, and how it may come up to the scratch when called upon. The pro- spects are indeed not very rosy but we'll do
our best. Anyhow the Hongkong team and any of their friends who come up with them at China New Year can be assured that they will receive a right hearty wel-
come.

CHINESE NEW YEAR,
It is expected that there will bo a fleet of several British Men-of-War in port during the Chins New Year holidays. This will no doubt be a great relief to those who are disturbed by the usual rumours of Chinese hostility. Thos who understand the Celestial and his playful little games of bluff, as so admirably portrayed by Bret Barte, will know how much faith they ought to place in these vapourings,

BABY BOY'S HEAD RAW WITH HUMOR
Running Eczema From Birth--Head Raw-Face Sickening Sight---It Wore Him to a Shadow-Tried Remedies and Two Doctors -People Said, "How Can You Wish Him to Live?" MARVELOUS CURE BY
CUTICURA REMEDIES
"My husband and I thought you would like to know what the Cuticurs Remedies have done for our baby boy. He had running eczema from birth. It developed itself after the first month. The poor little fellow's head was quite raw, his face was a sickening sight and the dreadful humour would soak his pillow through in a single night. It wore him to a shadow. People who saw him said, 'How can you wish him to live?' Two doctors saw him; one recommended Cuticura Remedics, but could do little else for him, for it was do ohatinata. We tried several remedies, in fact everything we could think of and was told of. At last we got Cuticura Oint- ment, and together with the Cuticur Soap the result was marvelous, for I have not finished one box and the skin is now perfectly clear. It has all dried up and his hair is growing wonderfully, and instead of sleepless nights he has the proper sound sleep. Mrs. G. Baker, 28 Victoria Road, Blandford, Dorset, Mar. 12, 1906."
