SPORTING.
Racing-Notes..
The Eagleera' dance last night was pro- bably responsible for the poor attendance again at the race course this morning. Other than owaps, trainers and jockles. there wors very low present. Perhaps those who are often sech at therallelast season do not consider that the training has reached
a sufiolently interesting stage yet.
The best gallop of the morning was done by Mir Humphrey's pony. A mile and o quartor in 3 minutes, Isat milo 2.22, last quarter 34. There are some who say this is too good for so early in the training. Mr Mackio's sub, agala put up a good gallop, Anishing strong. Mr Hunter's sub, went out, but feeling frisky, thraw the boy, who we riding bim, and want off by himself. Be eventually returned to the stablce after having shifted one of the rails, and foterfering somewhat with the other ponies' training, while careering serosa the two tracks on to the Golf Club's ground.

Owing to the Engineers' Ball clashing with the meeting called at the Bello Vue Hotel to discuss the advisability of holding walking match the sttendance was not large and it was decided to put the meot- ing off.
