The horse and field guns have made remarkable results. The gummers of the Royal Field Artillery have made marvellous practice with the 18-pounder, and were able to get in 20 shots in a minute at 5000 yards. This rate of fire could only be maintained for a brief parind, possibly being reserved for a crucial moment; but the effed of this rate of fire frono invisible · guns was to destroy the Pargets.
