In no other country but England it is safe to assert, would it be possible for flags, which regiments bava fought under on many sternly contested field, and in whose defence the lives of many men have bond laid down, ever to be met with in the pawn- shop or in the suction room, says a writer in the London Globe. Yet both these fates have-and within comparatively recent time-bafallon certain sate of colours of the British Army on their withdrawal from use. Others, again, hava mat with an oven more
