An Extraordinary Stòry.
At the inquest at Warren (N.S.W.) on the bodies of two children named Walsh, who died in the bush from heat and thirst, Mre Walsh deposed that she went to her mother's Mary Matheson, eight miles dis- tant from home, with the children. When there a row started over some horses. The mother said, "Take my horse out of the sulky. Go where you like." She took the horse out, gave the children & drink and etarted for home, pulling the sulky. She left it two miles away, and started to walk. Sbe laat her way, and left the children in some timber, and brought water A mile and a half from a tank on the plain in her boots for them. She then proceed. ed in the direction of her husband's paddock. The girl collapsed, and she took the boy with her, but left him shortly after. Mrs Healey heard her "coosţing," and came up, and later her husband. Her recollection of the circumstances following was confused. Both children were dead Mrs Healey, John Thomas Walsh, Vincent M'Ewan, and Obarles Daley Fletcher gave evidenco. Mrs Walsh's mother admitted the row, but denied demanding the horse. She stated her daughter was a woman of violent temper, and she could do nothing with hor. She followed and asked her to stop for the children's sake, and bogged her to take the horse. Lillie E. Matheson, Bister-in-law, corrobcrated her mother's account of the dispute. Mrs Walsh refused to have breakfast. She heard her mother
