Two Beacons, each bearing a Black shape and showing a Green Light by night will mark the Southern edge of the channel
Veasols will know that the old channel scross the Taishek Barrier is closed tothem when they see that the dredger is at work there and that the shapes have been re- moved from the Taishek Beacons and bave bien placed on the Beacons marking the newly dredged channel.
Vessels are required to go at slow speed when approaching the Barrier and to take every precaution.

The M. M. Co.'s steamer Caledonien, with the FRENCH MAIL of the 20th April, left Singapore on Monday, the 22nd May, at 9 may be expected here on or about Monday, the 29th May. This packet brings replies to letters despatched from Hongkong on the 25th March. The P. M. S.. S. Co.'s sis. Korea, with mails &c., from San Francisco to the 3rd May via Honolulu, has arrived at Yokohama, and left for this port on the morning of 23rd May, via Inland Sea, Kobe, Nagasaki and Shanghai, 'due herd on or about June 2nd.
