CURED OF CONSTIPATION.

I

AN ENGINEER PRAISES BILE BEANS,

tes continues to be brewed in a tea pot in which the exhausted leaves are allowed to remain, the liquor will be rank and unwholesome. The results will grow steadily worse, and the tea-pot will at length become quite untit for uso until it has been thoroughly cleansed and purified. If refuse has tecumulated in the human system through the occurrence of constipa tion, the whole body is rendered foul and anhealthy. Oorstipation and its results are speedily removed by Bile Beans. Mr 9. Wennoth, electrical engineer, 4, Alma Street, Southwick, Birmingham, England, says I found in the course of my profession that when I went to a fresh town or district, the altered climate had a very lowering and depressing effect upon me. When I got to some place for a short time I suffered from constipa. tion, depression and sleeplessness and got ran down generally. During the day I had a helpless feeling, and a desire to lio down all the time, though even that was a rouble, and then at night I could not go to sleep at all.

The many pills I tried nerer gave me any benefit, until one day a little booklet was brought to the door describing the benefit a number of people had received through taking Bile Feans for Biliousness, so I sent for a bottle. In a couple of days I felt a little better, and at the end of the course I was cured, and completely too, For I have never been troubled with the feelings since. I have never felt better than I do at present, and I cannot speak too highly of Bile Beans. I have given a lot of them away to neighbours, who tell me they have received a lot of good. In fact, I have not heard a word against them yet. I shall always keep a bottle by me, and will recommend them to overybody who suffers, for they have done me so much good that I feel it only right others should know of them."

Bile Beans are a cure for Indigestion, debility, biliousness, constipation, piles, female ailments, weakness, colds, chills, aleeplessness, loss of appetite, liver com plaint, headache, flatulence, pimples, and akin eruptions. Obtainable from all chem. tata and medicine vendors. Price 75 cont (Mex.) per bottle.⠀

If you ask an Italian what he thinks of the matter, he will probably, after having ascertained carefully that no llatener be present, tell you there can be no doubt | about the existence of such an organisation,

formed and maintained for the

purpose of vengeance, for blackmail, for extortion, and war on society in general.

Of the origin or scope of the dreaded organisation your informant will in all likelihood profess complete ignorance. But such details may be had from an ency clopaedia. In its pages you will learn, to your surprise, that the Black Hand is not Ital an at all, but Spanish, ita original name being La Mano Negra, and that the name has been used for more than two decades to designate a group of extreme anarchists or terrorists who are supposed to have filled the police records of Spain with many bloody entries-homicide and arson and wanton destruction of property.

Not later than last year an article ap peared in Die Neue Zeit (The New Time), the official periodical of the German socialists, in which such a well-posted man

As Heinrich Cunow referred to the Black

Band as an anarchist group that at one

time played an important and sanguinary part in the revolutionary movemout in Spain. And if anything more be wanting to prove the reality of the organisation and its iniquities, there are still eight prisonera Barving life sentences in Spanish bagnion, all of whom stand legally convicted of atrocities committed in the name of the Black Hand.

corroborated by a searching investigation, she charged certain Spanish officials-with having entered into a conspiracy the result of which was the conviction ofthe prisoners in question, the execution of others and a merilless persecution of the members of the supposed secret society.

During the last two years articles have been written and meetings held to arouse public opinion in favor of the relansa and rehabilitation of those unjustly enslaved eight men, and the agitation has finally re ached such a height that Senor Dato, Span- ish Minister of Grace and Justice, has had to interest himself in the matter. It looks now as if justice would be done to them after 20 years of undeserved punishment, But no reparation is possible in the cases of eight men who were executed at the time of the trials, or in those of a dozen other un. fortunate wretches who have died in prison since that time. Apparently we have here to deal with another of those monstrous official crimes the belated publication of which every now and then shocks the entire civilised world.

In Spain famine had raged yoar after year. The province of Andalusia, of which the district of Jerez de la Frontera is a part, suffered probably more than any other region. Landowning peasants were almost unknown in the province, all the Boil being in the hands of a few noble pro- | HEAD prietors who lacked both aptitude and money for the proper cultivation of their estates. The mass of inhabitants consist- ed of agricultural laborers ground downi into abject poverty. In the 70's and 80's wages ran from 10 to 30 cents. a day, when work was to be had-and half the time the people were unable to earn anything at all. At the same time food was so expensive that the price of a loaf of bread often equalled and sometimes exceeded a day's
