Chin Wan was the scene of a boxing contest between J. Douglas and Roberts of the Royal West Kent Regiment. The were but few, but there was a large attendance of Chinese, who flocked around when the nows that a bout was in progress reached them. Douglas has never before fought in Hongkong, but reports of bis skill led boxing enthusiasts to anticipate a good tussle. Had Douglas been matched against better man than Roberts those anticip- ationa might have been fulfilled, but the fight which occurred could hardly be term ́ed good, as Douglas carried far too many guns for his lighter opponent.
