Strictures on an Officer. The fortnightly meeting of the Sanitary Board was held yesterday afternoon, Dr J. M. Atkinson presiding. Other members present were the Hon. I'. N. Jones, Messrs H. E. Pollock, A. W Brewin, A. Rumjahn, Colonel W. E. Webb, R. A. M. C., Dr Barnett, Dr Macfarlane, Hon. Fung Wa Chun, Mr Lau Chu Pak and T. A. Hanmer (Secretary).
Dealing with correspondence relative to the drainage of Nos. 58, 60 and 62, Queen's Road Central, Mr Rumjahn appended a mi. nute deprecating the Sanitary Surveyor's inspection of drainage.
In reply to this minute the President said that he did not think it was in accordance with English practice, at all events, to make an attack of that character on an officer who was not present to defend himself, the Sanitary Surveyor being on holidays.
