Kuroki is now attacking the Russian posi tion at Pajetz on the river about seven miles north-east of Mukden.

Mr A. C. Holborow (of Messrs Deacon, Looker and Deacon) appeared for the plaintiff and stated that Mr G. K. Hall Brutton, who had represented the first defendant, had withdrawn from the case. Mr Bolborow stated that two applications referring to the same piece of land, Serial Nos. 133 and 1087, had been made, the former being withdrawn and the latter being disallowed. When evidence was called on those points, however, it was not clear that both applications referred to the land in question, and His Honour reserved judgment.
