Grave Banking Scandal, London, June 18.—A grave scandal has arisen in connection with the Pomeranian Bank, in Prussia.

Herr Schultz and Herr Romeich, two of the directors, are accused of placing large sams to the credit of Baron Mirbach, Comptroller of the Household of the Em- press, for charitable objects, under, the patronage of the Empress. The indictment under this head of the British merchants of Hongkong by the of ficers mentioned is a severe one, but ap- parently truthful. Our own interest in it lios in the fact that some of our ports, such As San Francisco, New York, Bosten and other large cities, receive ships and goods. from Hongkong. With thom at any time we might receive the gorm that would start an epidemic of one of the worst. scourges of mankind, the bubonic plague. We are forced to observe in the premises That it is not the heathen Chinese, but his white brother, who is responsible for the umanitary condition of Hongkong.

At times a foeling came over me as if there were a load on my stomach. I used ti feel the sensations getting gradually worse until I got sick and had diarrhoea. This would mean a ny or two off work. The attack would pass off and I should be able to work again for a short time, but sooner or later another bout would come upon me. The sickness and diarrhoea were accompanied by pains in the side and an all -round feeling of weakness and depros- sion. How long this would have continued I don't know, had I not tried Bile Beans,

THE NEW FRENCH REMEDY

TRADE

THERAPION

This successful and highly popular remedy, as emplayed in the Continental Hospitals by Ricord, Rustan, Jobert, Velpeau, and others, combines all the desiderata to be sought in a medicine of the kind and surpasses everything hitherto employed.

THERAPION NĚ. 1

in a remarkably short time, on a few days only, removes all discharges from the urinary organs, superseding injections, the use of which does irres parable harm by laying the foundation of stricture and other serious diseases.

THERAPION No. 2

for impurity of the blood, scurvy, pimples, spots, blotches, pains and swelling of the joints, secon dary symptoms, gout, rheumatism, and all diseasen for which it has been too much a fashion to em- ploy mercury, sarsaparilla, &c., to the destruction of sufferers' teeth and ruin of health. This pre- paration purifies the whole system through the blood, and thoroughly eliminates every poisonous matter from the body.

THERAPION No. 3

fornervous exhaustion, impaired vitality, sleepless- Bess, and all the distressing consequences of early error, excess, residence in hot, unhealthy climates, &c. It possesses surprising power in restoring strength and vigour to the debilitated.
