Moulmein, Port Blair and the neighbour- ing ports in the Bay of Bengal.
The Kohinur, Captain A. H. Mackinnon, is a steal screw steamer of 1,935 tone, marked Al at Lloyds and was built in 1884, by Messra. Harland and Wolff at Belfast. Her dimensions are 350 ft. 5 in. length, 40 ft. 3 in. breath and 25 ft. 2 in. depth. She too was on the coasting service and is probably at one of the Japanese ports just now, with the Shahzadu. The last report of them is that they are trading in the East Indics-a big term.
Japan is not the only country which is buying ships, however. Russin has bought the Hamburg steamer Hafiz for £50,000 and changed her name to Alexci Trapani, while the Europe of Messrs Elder Dempster & Co., anil the Pacific of the Energis Company have have been bought by the Tsar's Government and re-fitted as hospital ships at Port Arthur. They are both ready for service.
