The Garrick Theatre misunderstand- ing has been cleared up by an apology frankly offered by Mr Bourchier and accepted by Mr Walkley, the Times Critic. On the 2nd March last, Mr
Henry Arthur Jones' comedy White- washing Julia,' was produced at the Garrick. Now Mr Walkley had pre

Mr Bourchier, as an eager partisan of the author, gave orders that Mr Walkley should not be admitted to the theatre, and the result was a nine-months' boycott of the Garrick by the Times and of the This is the 'imes by the Garrick. storm that is appeased at last, and we all breathe more freely for even a storm serious when each leaf dignity, and writes to the

WEEK DAYE.
Mr. Chamberlain dined last night with the fifty-eight members of his Commission, representing the various trades and manufactures that are to profit most directly by fiscal reform, an interesting (and interested) assembly. This was that they might know each other. Serious work begins to-day, and the first meeting is in progress at the Hotel Metropole at this minute (3 p.m., Friday), It should be remembered that the Commission is not to decide whether preference is or is not desirable, but, granting the desirability, how it may best be arrangd. Something must certainly be done. The country must wake up, and Free Traders as well as

Extraordinary Activity at
Birkenhead Ducks.
The following extract is taken from a Liverpool paper received by the last mail from England
Thore has been for several weeks past extraordinary activity displayed at the Morpeth and Egerton Docks, Birkenhead, in consequence of what may be described as an unprecedented rush of cargo to the Far East by the Alfred Holt and China Mutual Line, belonging to the same firm. On Saturday the spectacle in the dock was unique, for there were four Ilolt boats in evidence at the same time, and they left on the same day. These were the Idomeneus, the Agamemnon, the Anchisis, and the Machaon. Fow persons engaged at the docks have ever scon such a simultaneous aggregation of steamers belonging to the same firm. TWENTY YEARs Yousufr. She told me the chance was due to Dr Williams' Punk Pills for Pale People.
This is what Mrs Ann Wession, of 171 North Fond, Preston, England, said, when asked how she came to hear of these pill, which have been the etuse of a wonderful improvment in her own bealth.
Twenty years younger! What food for thought! Do some of the tired, worn-out women whom one meets e ery day know what De Willi me Pink Pills are capabla of doing for them? These pill make New Blood.
That is the secret of their cures,
They do not tinker at disease. Ordinary medicine does that. Dr Williams' Pink Pilis strike at the cause. Those who take them look younger because
THEY FEEL YOUNG.
It is insufficient blond that makes women New Blood pale, and thin, and wrinkled. is as good as new life to them. That is why Dr Williams' Pink Pills make strong, active women of what were formerly weary invalils, often laid up for a week at stretch, often dreading the time when they will be suffering again. These pills do away with that fear. They give Activity and strength, too. They banish the hend- aches, buckuches, and pains in the side, which are so dreaded.
It is not merely here and there that they have done this, but in hundreds of thou Hands of cases. Mrs Weston's experience, already ruferred to, is only an example of many others. Norves shattered by repeat- ed suffering made her tired and languid, depressed in spirits, without interest in her business. She had most severe internal pains, and also sho ting pains down her sides aud across her shoulder blades. fact, she was all aches and pains.
In
'In addition to all this,' she said, 'I was most miserable. I always felt tired and languid, and could have lain in bed all day. I was medically attended, and I spent pounds and pounds in medicines. Then I noticed that a neighbour of mine, who had been in very poor health, suddenly so improved that she looked
"
TWENTY YEARS YOUNGER, and, on inquiring how she managed to regain her health, was told that it was through taking Dr Williams' Pink Pills for Pale People. It was then that I dec ded to try them myself. They did me world of good. I felt a great improvement AFTER THE FIRST FEW DOSES. 'The first thing I noticed was that the weary, hopeless feeling was disappearing. I felt fresh and fit for work, and began to look out upon life cheerfully. In a short time all my pains had gone, and now I feel as well and active as ever I did in my life. 'I have recommended the pills to many people, and I shall never be without them myself. I did more work last week than I could have done in three months before I started taking these pills. They seem to have put fresh life into me.'
Men as well as Women need the new blood and new energy which Dr Williams' Pink Pills are able to give. Nervous weakness is a terrible dangor. It leads tho way to the most fatal diseases, as paralysis, locomotor atazy, carly decay of the faculties, and premature old-age in both sexes, These Pills bave oured all these silments: and the new blood which they are capable of giving drives out Rheumatism, Sciatica, Fits, Kidney Disease, Aramia (the fore- runner is numberless casos of Consump tion), Eczema, and other skin diseases. The strength which they give to the nerves
