Of ladies who, as spinsters, married mun much younger than themselves, there are one or two notable examples. Perhaps the most remarkable is that of the Angel of Goodness Bardness Burdett Coutts. Her ladyship was born in the year 1814, and is Consequently now of the age of eighty-six. She did not marry until she had reached her sixty-seventh year, when she accepted the band and heart of Mr William Ash- mead Bartlett, now M. P. for Wesiuinster.
