Prinocas Charles of Denmark (lately Princess Maud of Wales in chief of the patronesses, and among the patrons there are many, titled personages as well as such Chess aristo- crate as Mesars Lasker and Pillsbury, Sir George Newnes presents the first prize of £80, and Baron Rothschild offers a Bril- liancy prize of £20. It is probable that the meeting will be a very successful one, and it should give a great stimulus to the study of Chess by ladies. It will be re- membered that Miranda played Chess with Ferdinand, but she accused aim of cheat- ing and the game was left unfinished...
