mails en route to England, is that the Suez Canst route meets the wants of Hongkong
and Shanghai raore than it does those of the Japan ports. Mr J. P. Mollison, of Yoko hams, states the case very clearly, in letter to a Manchester contemporary. Many who read that letter will probably dosline to believe that the mail via Vancouver, in actually starked in a godown either in Quebec or Halifax for three or four days, in order to await a steamer which loses two or three days more in the passage cross the Atlantic, as compared with the liners having New York. These, however, aro sober facta, and Mr Mollison deserves the greatest credit for bringing them to the notion of all concerned. While the facts are correct, the inferences of the Yoko dawa-hama gentleman are altogether wrong. The Canadian Pacific Railway Company have no more to do with these mails so soon as they are placed in the hands of the Post office of
