Review, which was intended to meet the wants of many students of Chinoso caused by the discontinuanes of Notes and Querits on China and Jyun, has rescued its Twenty-first Volume, Pho Review discuss doss topics which are uppermost in the minds of students of the Far East and about which every intelligent person bon- nected with China or Japan is desirous of Lequiring trustworthy information in eludes many interesting Notes and original Papers on the Arta, Eciences, Ethnology, Folklore, doography, History, Literature, Mythology, Natural History, Antiquities, and Social Marners and Custoint; et,, etc., of China, Japan, Mongolia, Tibet, and the Far East generally. Recently a raw de parture has been taken, and the Geriew now gives papers on Trade, Commerce, and Descriptive notes of Travel by well-known writers. It was thought that hy oxtending the doopo of tho Review in this direction, the Magazine would to made moro generally useful.
The Review department receive special attention, and endeavours ́are raade to present a careful and concise record of Literature on Ohine ato., and to give critiques embodying sketches of the Most recent works on such topica.
